This project portrays Gavin and Sue King-Smith, a couple who after living living in London, now live a sustainable minimalistic lifestyle, outside of the normal parameters of living, and have been doing so for the past 25 years. The images follow a dynamic of Sue and Gavin together, as well as their individualism. Their differing hobbies allow them to love and work side by side and enjoy the remote location. It was important throughout the project I portrayed Gavin and Sue's authenticity and personality throughout the story.
The project slowly evolves from portraying a lifestyle to telling a love story: a story that includes everyday practical problems, hardships and the need for self sufficient solutions bleed through their relationship. Making it utterly unique.
